… and I honestly could not be happier.

Freddy has such a way of lighting up my day. He had mentioned to me that he would be sending me some photos of her today, but I can tell you I honestly did not expect how she would look after she was all put together.

In my profession, I have to be a visual person. Freddy would keep me updated and send me update photos of her carvings, her haircut – but when she came together she just blew me away. She is STUNNING, and Freddy was able to imagine and create an absolutely wonderful girl for me. At the beginning, I kind of did not know what I wanted – just something Totoro, but he was so patient with me to work with me to create a girl that is just… wonderful. I gave him the most scatterbrained instructions! Everything was a possibility!

One of the reasons I love Freddy’s work so much is the beautiful, intricate work he does on eyelids – I have to say that he seriously does not disappoint.

I was so happy when she came together – it was amazing getting the first photographs in of her completed. I was letting out little squeals and giggles in my office as these absolutely gorgeous photographs rolled in.

(You know he even gave her some amazing Totoro Pull Charms!)

My girl will be travelling to me over the next week or so… and more photos are surely to come (and a much more detailed write up!)

Having a girl created for your specially really makes it a different experience. There is an anticipation and excitement you get from getting a girl that was made just for you – with your imaginings in mind. It takes quite a talent though to create such a clear and wonderful vision though, and for that I am forever grateful for Freddy’s talent here :).

In my every day job, I’m an architect and designer. I wasn’t sure at first, when I ended up in Architecture after wanting to be an doctor or a lawyer or something! On my first day at University I went to the school hoping to change my course. Before though, the Head of School smiled at me and said “Congratulations on getting into Architecture. Many of you probably wanted to be doctors or lawyers, but remember, you go to them when you are in your greatest of needs – and you come to an architect when you have the greatest of dreams”. Sucked in.

I relay this story because it does take talent to create a little dream girl, and that’s what she feels like for me! I cannot wait for her to make it to the land down under.

Thanks Freddy!
