The Emerald-Haired Girl

One of the very first Blythe’s was enamoured with was Alexis Emerald. I lusted over her for a long time – before I started collecting. I loved her both in stock form and customised form. When Marrakesh Melange was released I thought that would satiate my need for a emerald-haired beauty… but the more I looked at comparison photos I knew it wasn’t the same. So I waited. And waited. Finally, months later, she showed up for a fantastic price (in Australia too!) on Dolly Adoption.

Meet Lexi.

Alexis Emerald

Alexis Emerald was released in May 2012 just before Takara changed over their factories. She has the dubious honour of having many fakes of her, but also remains a steadfast favourite. Her creamy-pink toned skin features rosy blush and lips, a smokey dust of shadow over her eye, and four special eyechips in green, pale crystal blue, brown, and grey.

She’s a fashionable one. Wearing something that could pass for a regular human, she is packed with a manicure, a burgundy-red ruffled dress with gold studded buttons, fishnet stockings and some slip on (annoying to stay on) black shoes. She also comes with a pleather patent-looking belt with flowers (not pictured). Her dress is a drop-waist to show off her figure, and her pull ring is a fabulous green to match her hair.

Pulling back her hair you see that she has some golden earrings too. Lexi’s colouring is much pinker than that of Marrakesh (who has an orange make-up base). She’s a stunning one. Her complexion is lovely, and her hair was almost fine right out of the box. She’s a looker with a lot of attitude.

Alexis Emerald

I love, love, love the colour of her hair. I want another (almost), just so I can send it to one of my favourite customisers. But she’s a rare one to find in the wild nowadays. I can’t decide my feelings on customising a rarish doll, which is why I’m struggling so much with Le Jardin Maman, even though I have not fully bonded with her.

Back to Lexi – look at how her hair frames her face! Eugh. She still remains after arriving here one of my favourite stock releases. So much spunk and attitude! Lexi is one of my examples of: if you really want a doll… wait and save for her. The other one will just not do!
