Rosey Tea Parties – Alice Du Jardin Mint!

I remember when I first started collecting Pullips. My brother had bought me a Hatsune Miku for my birthday, and I was researching them and wondering what they were all about. I fell in love with two – Kiyomi and Alice Du Jardin Mint. Kiyomi was available at the time, but I wasn’t ready to plunge (and I regret this every day) and Alice Du Jardin was long sold out. It didn’t help that many people stated she was their favourite, and watching videos of her (I’m looking at yours, Omochacrush!) really fuelled the lust. Some 25 dolls later, I still don’t have Kiyomi – but I do now have Mint!

Alice Du Jardin Mint

Alice du Jardin Mint is just one of those dolls that Pullip just got… right. I don’t really mind that she’s a recolour of the original Pink, or that she’s another of their dozens of Alices. She’s just one of the prettiest releases ever!

Alice Du Jardin Mint

She’s one of those lovely oldies that come with a whole bunch of extras in her box – including this gorgeous pink rosey bunny, dressed to match her outfit. Her hair is a glorious minty colour, with ringlets that cascade down her back. Her minty hair is a bit thin, and you can see her wig cap, but I don’t think it’s that noticeable. Her eyes are accentuated to be shaped like diamonds, and her lips blushed a coral-red in the centre. The ends are painted with a tiny grin. Her makeup is done in pinks with hints of yellow, and she has anime-style dark blue eyechips.

Her stock is amazingly well made. Her shoes, are these giant heels (statement heels, I’d say) kind of like mary-janes but she has a giant pink bow and yellow ribbon on them. They are very platform! Her legs are clad in this lovely brown and cream striped stocking.

She has an awesome skirt with a three layers to keep their shape. A polka-dot minty layer on a black chiffon, a blue-trimmed peachy flower, and then the crazy apron on the top. The apron features pink, a giant bow, rosettes on her bust, and just is all-round over the top. Her sleeves are short, but her wrists are covered in these little…cuffs… that also are ribboned.

Once you take off the crazy apron, you can see she’s sporting quite a nice simple dress underneath. It has a striped green and black bib, with a chocolate spotted ribbon at her collar.

Excuse the shot, but I wanted to show you how cool her underskirt was. Its trimmed in black with a pink satin ribbon! I love those details you wouldn’t normally catch.

Here’s a close up of her arm cuff, and you can see the lovely patterns and ribbon and lace detailing on her pink apron.

More apron and bib detail goodness! How awesome is this dress?

Here’s a shot of the back of her dress (sans apron) as well as those gorgeous ringlets. She has around 6-8 ringlets. You can see them messing up a bit on the right side of the photo, but overall they look pretty neat. It’s the maintenance part that is the hard part…

To cap off her gorgeous hair is this magnificent headband that is striped like her tights, and covered once again in little satin rosettes.

She still remains one of my favourite girls ever, and even more stunning in person (joining Favourite Ribbon, Eos and Galene) and after looking at her more… I’m thinking I might need to get her pink sister.

Alice Du Jardin Mint

Because seriously, what a stunner.

Alice du Jardin Mint (Originally an October 2012 doll) was happily re-released this year and available again via Pullipstyle here for $119.95. Considering at the height of her popularity she was over the $400 mark, this is basically the best thing ever.

And next up… I will find Kiyomi!
