I was disappointed when I didn’t win the lottery for Cherry Beach – but I guess one of the pros of yammering on about dolls all the time is that my friends start to recognise that I love them. One of them, happening upon this “Tan girl with a blue dress” in Hong Kong, asked me if I wanted to pick her up. Of course I did – and she was within $10 of RRP. I was stoked.
Wow.. I just realised how blurry that photograph is. Damn this lens (also love) that only allows me about 5mm of focus! Cherry Beach Sunset (CBS) arrived in a cherry-covered orange box on a background of polkadots. She’s tanned. She’s sassy. She comes with a bikini.
Her stock includes a red stand, a pink satin bikini that I’m sure won’t hold up well to water, a white beaded bracelet (which I think is adorable), matching loveheart earrings, pink-heart sunglasses ala Lolita, a giant denim bow, pink undies, red round-toe shoes, and a navy cherry printed sweetheart dress. her body is covered in plastic from head to toe, probably due to the possible the staining of the dress.
You can see in this photo her stunning tiffany-blue chips… and also her cherry coloured lips have a factory defect (insert sobbing here).
Here she is out of the box. She’s a stunning girl with skin that looks like a cafe latte. She has some cherry-red blushing, and dark brown eyeshadow. She looks like she’s gone to the salon and asked them to bleach her hair a honey-brown. I think in a previous life she was originally a dark brunette.
You can see her full get-up in this shot – and I have to say she’s a pretty stunning release. Everything melds together so well and I love her little bracelet and earrings giving her a pop of brightness. The girl knows how to accessorise!
Lots of people have posted photographs of CBS hair with choppy bangs, but I am happy to report that her haircut is pretty straight, and her fringe is blunt.
Her hair out of box was completely to character – dry, fizzy, a little bit greasy – like she had spent too much time in the sun, bleaching her hair, and left the salt in her locks after she went swimming. Her sunscreen probably bled into her hair as well. She’ll definitely be needing a spa and treatment!
Cherry Beach Sunset has one special front facing eyechip in a spectacular tiffany-blue colour – or the same colour as the oceans in Northern Australia, and 3 stock eyechips. Because of her lovely chocolatey skin colour though, the blue and the green eyechips look stunning on her. The front facing oranges kind of freak me out (but then again they always freak me out) and will probably be swapped out in the future.
Here she is sporting her sunglasses. You can just see her strolling along the beaches in the bright sunlight and tossing her hair, before pulling off her shoes and running along the the shoreline. She know’s she’s a stunner and boy does she flaunt it!
They even made her pull ring tan. I think it’d be fantastic in a jelly red….
Cherry Beach Sunset was released in July in 2015. She was super-popular -to the point that she had to be released in a lottery. She was snapped up pretty quick, which caused the second hand market to push her price to almost 2.5 times her listed RRP. However, the market is settling now and she seems to be selling around $200-230 USD. You can get her a bit cheaper still if you know how to operate Yahoo Japan.
If you can get your hands on this girl I definitely recommend her. She’s different. She joins the list of very few tan releases and it’s great to see Junie Moon doing something a bit different.
I’m considering getting her re-rooted. I think she’d look fab with a dark brown mohair…
