Rock on, Britt Forever

Oh man. I’m looking at my blog post calendar in my planner in shame. It’s been 1.5 weeks! I’ve had 4 posts planned in that period of time, but work has gotten the better of me (work, not even life! 1/3/4/5 am days, boo to you!). The weather has also been horrible, making it horrendous for doll work and sealant – and happy photographs. I’ve been a mopey lady the last week, the husband has even commented. A non-dolly me is a grumpy me it seems :D.

One thing that did perk me up though, was when Britt got to visit for a few days.

Britt is a creation by Jevries Loves Jodie, partner to the very lovely Jodiedolls. I visited his instagram, and I must say, he makes the most insane and amazing resin cars. Anyway, to the point. Britt was living at the Auguste Clown Gallery for a few months and needed some help to come home, so I went to visit and pick her up.

She started life as a Lorshek Molseh, and has had a great list of work done to her! Her gallery description talks about a girl that is punky and full of attitude. She came with the most awesome accessories, and I can see that Jevries has put the utmost care into her! Her amp is carefully stickered and weathered, showing off a girl who has been on the road (can you also see the wonderful “Jevries” on her amp?) The amp doubles up as her stand, and she also came with an electric guitar to plug in.

She is a complete work of art. Her outfit is amazing, carefully put together with a little studded belt, a patterned tie, and a headband. The belt is adorned with charms and chains. Her socks are striped, and she has a crazy collection of cute little button badges. She wears a leather bracelet on one arm, and a studded leather band on her other pure-neemo’d wrist (she also has a matching cuff on her ankle!)

Her carving is detailed and exquisite, with a little smirk in the corner of her mouth, finished in a cherry-red stained lip, blushed cheeks, and sparkling hand-painted eyechips.

One of the most amazing things though?

These shoes. Shiny, wonderful, glossy wine goodness. Made of what feels like a patent red leather, the shoes are absolutely amazing. I’ve skipped a photo here, she also has two pull charms, one that says “Britt” and the other, a black studded hoop to match her ankle and studded leather wrislets. She’s a work of art. I’m not surprised, she was displayed in a gallery!

I love her little “Rock On” hands!

Britt is all packed up and ready to return home to the Netherlands! I hope she has a safe trip, I feel so lucky to have her visit me!
For Kathryn (WIP)

On a slightly unrelated note, I’ve almost finished this girl! I changed her eyechips (again!) to a stormy grey Puppelina pair. I’m really loving how she’s coming along. How fabulous is her dress by the way? I asked Belle of the super talented So Sweet Dolls to make me a dress for her in layers of grey. I can’t wait to show you more pictures of the dress!
How has your week been?
