A Doll House for Birdie

So… remember how this blog’s name is Project Doll House? Mainly because I started it thinking I would make a doll house (I am an architect by day… really, this should be easy). Turns out that when you do your job during the day, its harder to do it as a hobby, which by the way, turned out to be totally silly because making a doll house is ONE THOUSAND TIMES awesome fun compared to normal work – and this week, a girl arrived that made me kinda go crazy and decide that it was time for Project Doll House to earn its name.

So, meet Birdie, and her little study.

Ruby, Oh Sparkling Ruby.

I mentioned earlier this year, that I was looking at a complete overhaul of my collection, and I apologize for not being able to update this blog as often as I would like, but hopefully that will get better soon, and life will be less hectic, with more dolly time. An Introduction to Dollfie Dream Dolls

By “an introduction” I really mean, “my introduction” to Dollfie Dream dolls. Doll collecting is a funny thing, at the beginning, you think you’re creeped out by a doll in particular, due to its big eyes, funny limbs, bobble heads, and then slowly you’re converted, and then coveted. That’s what happened to me with Dollfie Dream girls.

My little journey with Volks Saki

Those of you who have been following my dolly adventures know that I originally acquired my Winter for her SDGr Body, but then fell in love with her sculpt and had to keep her. It’s been a bit of a journey acquiring Saki and putting her together, but finally, I can show you! Here she is – the reason why I wanted an SD BJD in the first place!

A Very Special Surprise, for a Very Special Person.

One day in July I was clacking away at my computer when I received a ping from an unknown messenger. “Hello” The message said politely. The message was from a Christopher, who wanted to surprise one of my favourite dolly people ever (Omochacrush) on her birthday with a dolly. And… because I love surprises, covert operations, dollies, and Angie, I gleefully typed yes, and our grand plan was in place.

Hello Little Grumpy Face and Other Updates

I have a thing for grumpy faced dolls. I find them completely adorable, a little disapproving frown, thinking, what are you doing Owner Lady, why did you dress me so silly? When I had an opportunity to send my dolly to the Queen of the Adorable Grumpy Face (S.Cola Custom Dolls) I literally jumped at the opportunity. As a preface, thank you Sylvia for making my girlie so awesome!

And then, your heart melts. Meet Poppy.

That feeling when you open up the bubble wrap and these gorgeous, big eyes peep out at you, and then your heart explodes. BOOM. I was a goner, and this little girl had completely captured it with one wee peep. I’d like you to meet Popcorn, or Poppy.

An update on some commissions~

I’ve been busy working through my commissions list in the last few days, and have some images to share with you! The idea being is that I work through the entire commissions list first before I take anymore (and plus I am heading into a period of real-life work intensity) and I feel bad if the waiting list is open for too long!

Minifee Chloe – Unboxing and new things

It’s been a busy few weeks at Project Doll House. I’ve had a serious amount of visitors passing through on their way home, a few commissions (that you might have seen on my instagram!) and also the arrival of this new girl – a Minifee Chloe. Although I have a Lati Yellow, this Minifee feels like my introduction to a whole new dolly world.

Anna, perfectly imperfect.

Nancy contacted me to create counterpart to her Pere Noel – the Black Swan to the white swan. She had quite a vision for her – an young lady-in-training, not the perfect ballerina, but close. She would become an amazing dancer in her own right, one day. So with this little brief, I started work on Anna, the Black Swan (and not the black swan from Natalie Portman’s story, that’s a whole other kettle of fish).
