Meet Clover, an Autumn Beauty

A few weeks ago, I sent one of my gorgeous Les Jeunette’s off to Floriana of Almond Doll for a new look. It was a bit of a tough decision, as Les Jeunette is one of my favourites (this blog used to be named for her after all…) but I couldn’t resist. Almond Doll has been one of my favourite customisers for a really long time.

Clover

Clover (I was thinking of a name, I wanted to name her after a food, like “Caramel” but then I thought of Honey & Clover, and seeing as she came all the way from Ireland, I thought having her named after the shamrock wasn’t too bad of an idea!) was a Les Jeunette base. She has had her face completely carved, lips painted, eyes painted, 4 special eyechips from Almond Doll, delicate eyebrows and underlashes, freckles, golden highlighter, and re-bodied with a Pure Neemo S.

Side note about re-bodying. I definitely feel that some girls really fit a licca compared to a Pure Neemo, and Floriana’s girls aways seem to fit the PN bodies.

When I send a girl away, I always want her to fit the customiser’s style. Being a long-time fan of Floriana’s girls, I was pretty happy for her to just go for it. Clover came to me so carefully packed, with layers and layers of bubblewrap, which I carefully unrolled and let out little gasps of delight. She’s definitely the most fancy girl in my collection – she looks more lady-like than anyone else. More grown up. She’s also my only girl with eyebrows.

I first came across Floriana when I was looking at eyechips for my Pullip dolls. How stunning are they though? They seem to have their own little sparkling light. They’re all hand-painted, and Clover has been fitted with a ocean blue, stormy blue, a green and a coppery brown set of eye chips. They all suit her perfectly.

Clover is definitely fierce. You don’t want to mess with her. She’s a stately beauty and she knows it.

However, if you catch her from below, you can see that she has an innocence about her as well. Floriana carved her faceplate and nose beautifully, and Clover is the only one of my girls who can breathe, with proper nostrils that go through her faceplate!

She has these gorgeous eyelids in a peachy colour, with sparkly golden speckles all over. She also has these awesome luxe lashes!

I always take my dolls out to explore, and when I received Clover I was off to the mountains that day. So in the name of bonding with the new girl, I packed her up in her babushka case, and we went exploring in the sun.

She laid about in the grass for a bit. I’m pretty sure everyone thought she was a very small child!

Back home, I still can’t get over how gorgeous her eyes are! Large, pearly, and like little windows to her fancy soul.

Her eyechips change from being delicately painted to delicately painted with SPARKLES.

Look at her. Smoulder. Over the shoulder. Heh.

I’m still adapting to having such a fabulous girl in my collection. The eyebrows, I have to say, make a huge difference to the overall ‘feel’ of Blythe. The husband says it’s like she had a cinderella makeover (or more accurately, a Princess Diaries makeover, where she went from Nerdy to Va-va-voom).
