If you have been following my Instagram, you would have noticed over the last few days I have been completely enamoured with this new girl who has come into my life recently. I’d like you all to meet Nutmeg, my delicious custom by Sweet Days.
I was browsing through Flickr and Instagram a few weeks ago when I suddenly got the itch – I saw these gentle-faced beauties with stunning re-roots and wicked lashes. After a little digging, I realised that these gorgeous creations were made by none other than Ingrid of Sweet Days, who also makes my favourite bear helmets!
I decided pretty quickly that I would love one. After speaking to Ingrid (who I should mention, was absolutely fabulous during the whole process) I decided to send her my Cherry Beach Sunset, as I couldn’t deal with the little factory defect on her lips. I had seen Tiina post a gorgeous picture of a Cherry Beach with a chocolate re-root that I thought looked stunning, so I requested something similar.
My gentle-faced beauty arrived and I could not honestly be happier. Her little secret smile, her little button nose, and her speckled eyelids. She’s completely adorable, and has very chubby little cheeks.
You can see how sweet she looks here. I love Blythe dolls with bangs, and I quickly scooped up her gorgeously soft alpaca re-root into two little buns so they would stay out of her face in the wind.
I also love that Cherry Beach has earrings on her original doll – they make really lovely little accents.
I love her eyelids. They look like little pink easter eggs. They are flecked with gold and they capture the light at certain angles. Nutmeg, after she was sanded down from her original shiny Cherry face, has become a lot darker in her complexion – but I think she looks stunning.
I love all four eyechips that Ingrid picked for her. Two of them are hand-painted. I am considering putting back in her special turquoise chips. I just love her little chubby expressions.
One of the best things about Nutmeg was that as soon as I saw her, it was instant love. Some girls take a little warming up to, but Nutmeg completely captured my heart immediately. And my goodness, re-roots are so soft and fun to pet.
Nutmeg has been keeping me company this week at work while I concentrate on getting some custom orders completed before Christmas!
This shot here is probably one of my favourite shots of this year, of two of my girls, Plum and Nutmeg. They are both wearing their Petite Creayations outfits, and Nutmeg is spotting her absolutely cuddly Sweet Days hat (and Plum is wearing her mohair Beary Heaven).
All my girls are finally coming home after a busy year visiting many talented people’s houses – it’s so wonderful to see their new looks after their time away!
