Lola, Oh sweet Lola

February is a horribly busy month for me. I teach an intensive at the University where we try to build a huge structure in a fortnight, and let’s just say its one tiring slog with not much sleep. Completely exhausting, and barely any sleep (I’m like a zombie that has emerged from a deep bottomless pit) so I apologize for the very slow dolly updates! (I’m also having an awful time deciding which girl to get… Kiyomi Mint? My Melody? The Little Prince girls? AH! TOO MANY, February!). I’ve managed over the last few days to get some rest, and now finally I can get back into my dolly mojo.

I managed to sneak over to pick up six very fabulous visitors though, which I will slowly introduce to everyone here. I also managed to do a very quick photoshoot with the first two… and what an absolutely special girl I have today.

Everyone, meet Lola.

Spiralling into Candyland~ Come Play with Mei!

I first learnt of Caramelaw after seeing one of her creations on the front cover of the Doll Scene by Louis Bou. I was completely enamoured by the whimsy and the fun of her gorgeous girls. They had a certain style and panache – they were clearly from another world and bursting out of an illustrated candy land. So when Sheena Aw aka Caramelaw asked if I could help her doll home from Auguste Clown, I of course readily agreed. So – for a short few days I had a very special visitor, and I’d like you to meet miss Meilla.

Rock on, Britt Forever

Oh man. I’m looking at my blog post calendar in my planner in shame. It’s been 1.5 weeks! I’ve had 4 posts planned in that period of time, but work has gotten the better of me (work, not even life! 1/3/4/5 am days, boo to you!). The weather has also been horrible, making it horrendous for doll work and sealant – and happy photographs. I’ve been a mopey lady the last week, the husband has even commented. A non-dolly me is a grumpy me it seems :D.

One thing that did perk me up though, was when Britt got to visit for a few days.

Juniper, Miss Peppermint Goodness

I’ve had two Simply Peppermint’s and each time, I can’t bond to them. So, I sent them both off to get a new lease on life, and the first came home this week – Juniper (I named her Juniper meaning young and evergreen). Juniper was sent to the talented Christine at Forty Dolly Winks and I asked her to have fantasy coloured eyeshadows… and a secret little smile.
